Stephanie Walrath
Stephanie is pursuing a Public History at Duquesne University, with a focus on decolonization, diversification, and cultural education in public spaces. In 2018, she interned in educational programming pertaining to the civil rights movement and urban slavery with the Historic Columbia Foundation in Columbia, SC. Her paper "Decolonizing National Parks: A Conversation about Repatriation and Shared Authority” assessed the racist history of US National Park administration on contested land, and won the 2019 Duquesne University Common Good Research Award for graduate research. Her collaborative work on the Duquesne University Veterans' Oral History Project also won the University's 2019 Oral History Initiative Award. She also possesses a B.A. in History and Sociology with a minor in Religion from Wofford College (2012), and has over 7 years of experience working on behalf of immigrant communities within the legal field. Stephanie creates our multimedia content, including animation, historical narrative, and sound editing. As an oral historian, she is responsible for interviewing, transcribing, and editing recordings. |
